I build a grid of harmonious colours mixed from just a handful of paint tubes. Meticulously painted without the use of tape, each square contains a hue and its lighter tint to create the illusion of a transparent film hovering over the surface. The eye flickers, depth appears, the surface seems to move. Influenced by Josef Albers' colour theory and Bridget Riley's perceptual energy, my aim is simple: colour that brings joy.
